Dave and Joe invited me to the grange to partake in some jammin' & brewskys. This vid is a synopsis of the set. We enjoyed it. I hope you do too.
Re: Grange Jam 2 - HottscullNovember 11th 2008 7:09 That\'s just too cool bro...
You are so blessed.... skills and good jammin brothers..... Freakin AWESOME! I\'d pay for that stuff right there...
Welcome aboard Dave & Joe. Mighty fine axe grinding going on in that house of horrors...... lol
Tod, thanks to you and your compadres.... mucho!
Re: Grange Jam 2 - kingsrvNovember 11th 2008 8:58 That right there is what its all about, getting together with friends, playing some tunes, nothing crazy and complicated, just good ole jamming..Nice stuff guys, enjoyed the hell out of that. Sure would love to join in...
Re: Grange Jam 2 - knoxvilleNovember 11th 2008 9:31 that looked like a good time right there... welcome dave and joe..
Re: Grange Jam 2 - teegeeNovember 12th 2008 4:53 It\'s always a fun time jammin\'with these two guys. What is really interesting is you never know who might show up with their axe (or whatever) in hand. Over the years we\'ve had bassists, harmonica & keyboard players, acoustic & lead guitarists and vocalists join in the jam. None of it is really serious business, just social fun. Now if we could just find a vocalist-drummer who can show up consistently like Dave & Joe do... nah, then it might become too serious.
Re: Grange Jam 2 - CrashNovember 12th 2008 6:27 I would have loved to join in too. Welcome Dave and Joe. I see Joe is an Epiphone Dot Studio owner as well, good choice, great guitar for the dinero. Y'all need a singer. Maybe you could fly Trippy on up for a session.
Re: Grange Jam 2 - MitchNovember 12th 2008 6:37 excellent jam...at a good ol' Grange. Shoulda played La Grange...lol....I would have loved to see the look on ppl's faces when Alice showed up...lol....i seriously believe that you guys aren't that far from putting a set together and getting out to perform...welcome aboard gentlemen..and great job teegee...don't forget to credit your camera person!!!
Re: Grange Jam 2 - halbNovember 12th 2008 7:02 Looks as though a good time was had by all! Wish I could be there. Hey, what is the "Grange"? We have a little town named LaGrange here that ZZ Top made famous *LOL*... but the video does not look like a chicken ranch *GRIN*. Is it a pub?
Re: Grange Jam 2 - rockin ronNovember 12th 2008 10:52 good synopsis
Re: Grange Jam 2 - CliffNovember 13th 2008 7:51 That's soooo cool seeing 3 members of nlgtv jam together. As Ron would say, *looks northwest and salutes*.
Re: Grange Jam 2 - teegeeNovember 13th 2008 1:39 To Hal et.al.:
What is a grange? A \"grange\" is the meeting place or building where rural Americans once met to discuss and share argricultural matters of concern among local farmers. However, \"The Grange\" is a family fraternal organization dedicated to the betterment of rural America through community service, education, legislation, and fellowship.
As with many fraternal orgnaizations today, The Grange has an aging and struggling membership. Because of the increasing costs for owning and maintaining property, many of the grange halls of the past century have been sold off, causing membership to combine with other granges and contribute to the loss of members.
My county (Westmoreland, PA., founded 1773) encompasses 1,025 square miles and has a total population of 368,983. Agricultural land mass for the county is 150,967 acres with the average farm size being about 112 acres. If you do the math, there are 236 square miles (23% total land mass) of farmland, but there are only two standing grange halls in the entire county.
I hope this is helpful Hal.
Re:Grange Jam 2 - halbNovember 13th 2008 3:22 Thanks Tee Gee,
Yes, that clears it up. Being a city boy, I had never even heard of a \"grange.\"
Peace,
Hal
Re: Grange Jam 2 - Smokin JoeNovember 15th 2008 11:54 It's always fun jammin with Dave and Tod. There is always an open invite to anybody. Even to the guy singin behind the camera. Ha Ha. Can't wait for the next one.
Re: Grange Jam 2 - teegeeNovember 16th 2008 8:33 I\'ll put some money on the guy behind the camera (AKA: Roy) being able to sing like Billy Gibbons on \"La Grange\".
Re: Grange Jam 2 - MusiccaNovember 16th 2008 9:56 Sweet jamm action there !!! Welcome Smokin Joe and Dramsay. I have to admit I was with Hal on the whole "grange" thing. Thanks for the insight Tod.
