For me Todd I think it sounds great and is nearing fruition. I am not a death metal type person persay, but kudos and salutations my friend. It sounded great to me!
Re:Enuma Elish Vocal Teaser - ToddSeptember 7th 2008 2:45 Thanks man...I\'m not really into death metal either...but the singer makes it so I can understand what he\'s saying..and I like that part.
Re:Enuma Elish Vocal Teaser - JimmylegsSeptember 7th 2008 4:54 Music to the song is outstanding! very cool! Singing well, although not bad, I don\'t really care for growling into the mic, instead of actually singing. So not too big into death metal except for the music behind some of the singing. I just feel anyone can get up and growl and scream into a mic, and just make anything up because no on knows what that hell your saying anyway, especially with a kick a** tune behind ya. All in all not too bad, what does he sound like if he actually sang, seems like he would sound along the lines of James Hatfield. Keep cranking them out Todd!!
Re: Enuma Elish Vocal Teaser - MitchSeptember 9th 2008 4:58 i like the music very much as well...also...god i guess i'm an old fart but the singing isn't my cup of tea. but i'm listening with "big ears" I have listened to some death metal and this song is above par of what i have heard from "signed" bands...on another note ...i really like the logo and background....pretty much says it all....good job bro!!!
Re: Enuma Elish Vocal Teaser - ToddSeptember 9th 2008 5:14 Thanks all! I was a little hesitant to post it here cause I know not many are into that style of vocals...but I wanted to share
Re:Enuma Elish Vocal Teaser - teegeeSeptember 9th 2008 6:11 Sharing is a good thing Todd. Developing \"big ears\" is also a good thing.
Keep the vids coming bro\' because we need to hear all genres of music to develope a personal playing style. We can learn a little something from everyone that paricipates at NLGTV. Don\'t deny us that option. Perhaps you could tell us a little about the making of that tune. It could shed more light on the technical side of your cut.
Re:Enuma Elish Vocal Teaser - BegoodSeptember 9th 2008 6:44 I\'m a Death Metal fan. And I can say the vocals are well balanced. We often hear some too low monotone voices in Death Metal. Believe me, this singer is a good singer.
It is a short teaser but i will say it sounds really good to me.
Re:Enuma Elish Vocal Teaser - ToddSeptember 9th 2008 7:39 Thanks guys...didn\'t know we had any Death Metal fans here
The making of the tune...where to start..hmmm
From a purely technical standpoint the song was tracked in my home studio using my PC with a Creative E-Mu and an AudioTechnica Condensor Mic. The drum tracks are done with a drum machine as we are waiting for the drummer to finish the real ones in a studio setup for recording drums. (BIG pain to do drums without the right room/equipment)
Now that the technical stuff is out of the way....the songs/concept came from the drummer (Christian Doiron) who approached me and the other guitarist from Disobedience to do this project. I\'m not into Death Metal and don\'t really listen to that much of it so it\'s been a real challenge to write stuff for the genre. Having said that..I\'ve learned a pile of new stuff and been able to get really creative with it..which is great!
Basically Christian wants to create a Sumerian feel in the music and has written lyrics based on ancient Sumerian texts. He\'s been working towards making the lyrics historically accurate for the time era and we\'ve been working towards making the music heavy but have a middle eastern \"feel\".
I\'ll try to get some video from the recording sessions posted (there\'s some great outtakes) soon...and go from there.
If anyone is interested in hearing some of the other music we\'ve been working on..let me know and I\'ll get it loaded up somewhere
Re:Enuma Elish Vocal Teaser - IanSeptember 9th 2008 1:11 Todd I am always interested to hear what you have to offer, let\'s hear it!
*WARNING! Death Metal Vocals* Song from the upcoming album we're working on for Galla Me. This is from a session we had this weekend and is not the final mix..just wanted to give you an idea of where we're going.
