Re: beat it - vaxwellMay 1st 2008 9:04 Tim, that song has a really awesome opening riff. Not enough people give it credit.
Hell, people don't even know that the guitar solo is by Eddie Van Halen. Or that Steve Lukather (from toto!) was on guitars and bass.
Apart from the fact that MJs music is freaking awesome, there have been so many brilliant players playing with him on his songs... and now there's the great knoxville.
Freaking awesome, man! You nailed it, too.
Re:beat it - IanMay 1st 2008 9:43 Ah dam Jess \'beat it\' me to it lol! Jess, Eddie Van Halen played on the entire album and it was one of the first times that a solid hard rock guitar player joined forces with a pop singer.
The Thriller album uh hum caugh is one of my favourite albums of all time caugh argg.
Tim that was awesome and you have an octave thingy going on there for the main riff and it sounds really cool too. That was worth some Karma brother and I took the liberty of updating you 7 points man! And I gave you a 5 star rating for the willingness to try that song. I thought it was great!
Re: beat it - guitarchickofhell666May 2nd 2008 4:41 That was bloody awesome!
I love MJ, and you just nailed it (well i think u did )
hehe now i have to try and learn it lol

50 million stars!
Re: beat it - MitchMay 2nd 2008 4:54 ah..heehehehe....(moonwalks while grabbing my crotch)...ok where's my one glove....hehehehe...great job Tim you matched right in there and the fact that you were actually playing against EVH is impressive...you sounded great bro....not an MJ fan here at all, but i'll give props to Thriller for the ground breaking album it was. like Ian said incorporating Rock and Pop proved to be a good idea and the videos that came from this album are legendary....excellent offering tim and way to not be afraid to turn the dial to the left...
Re: beat it - rockin ronMay 2nd 2008 6:27 eddie VH , playing for MJ ,, hmmm, i didnt no that .. can someone really prove that , its hard for me to believe ....RR
Re: beat it - CliffMay 2nd 2008 7:43 Okay...grossed out by the thought of Mitch grabbing his crotch. Ewwww :) I can't get the image out of my head now!
Tim you rocked that beyotch!! Not an MJ fan either but ya definitely get mad props for doing something different. *adds more karma for the song AND the cool Southpark lookalike*
Re: beat it - slash74May 2nd 2008 8:37 Aw man, awesome job, as per usual. You really got a cool tone, close enough to the original, but no cheesy.
And yeah, Eddie did play on this. Although, someone better played on Black or White...
Re: beat it - parispatMay 2nd 2008 11:19 Would that be Slash?
Re: beat it - parispatMay 2nd 2008 11:21 knoxville,
way to go. in my youth (when I had hair), i was jamming to MJ.
Re: beat it - HottscullMay 2nd 2008 5:23 Well done Tim, and a dam fine choice........but, Should have been a vid.... lol
I wanted to see you groovin bro!
Re:beat it - JimmylegsMay 2nd 2008 9:04 That was pretty cool Tim!! Nice playing. You probably had you glove and studed jacket on for that one.
Also didn\'t Steve Stevens (was Billy Idols guitarist) play in the Smooth Criminal Song too. Some how he had some good licks in some of his songs.
Re: beat it - slash74May 3rd 2008 2:42 Yes it would!
Re: beat it - teegeeMay 3rd 2008 4:54 Thanx Tim, I found myself doing the "card-dealing" dance movement to this one. I think I have to go into rehab again... or find my bag o' Funyuns. Great job on the rhythm & lead playing although I'm kinda glad I don't have to re-live that era, EVER.
